ACIDENTE's
state-of-the-art release, re-released
in 2014 by Stolen Records.
a real topper that brought many insertions and reviews
in specialized sites from all
places and the snowball is still growing. We
threw the coin into the fountains and it will
stay there.

Presentation The first ACIDENTE was a
basic rock 'n' roll founded in 1978. During
the 80s, they released 3 independent records
(posteriorly aggregated on the CD "Rock",
Stolen 6), but couldn't bear the major
labels' harrassment, splitting up in 1987.
This second namesake group was not in any
case a reincarnation, but the way
producer/keyboardist Paulo Malaria (Paulo
Izecksohn) found to reuse an already
registered and somewhat known name.
From 1989 on, ACIDENTE
would follow three stony guidelines: to make
only instrumental, prog-oriented music; not
to play live; and never change their
line-up. However, after less than a decade
and three more albums ("Quebre Este Disco",
"Gloomland" and "Farawayers"), none of these
entrenchment clauses had been kept. Some
musicians had left rock'n'roll, the country
or music altogether, untill ACIDENTE was found
adrift in 1999 by Rock Symphony's labelhead
Leonardo Nahoum, who made a proposal to
convert "Quebre Este Disco" to CD. At this
point, what was possible was to regroup the
current line up (a trio) to record 4 new
tracks to be added to the "Quebre Este
Disco" CD release.
The result was satisfactory enough to
encourage Rock Symphony to associate to
French Musea, world's most prestigious prog
rock label. In order to launch ACIDENTE's next
work, "Technolorgy", recorded from 2001 to
2002. By this time, the band had become
again a quartet with Malaria, Bassist Ary
Menezes, drummer Mario Costa and newcomer
guitarist Renato Borges.
Released in June 2002, the scarce 996 copies
of "Technolorgy" sold out almost immediatly
and the album has benn never reissued ever
since, resulting that their 13 tracks could
only be found on the internet. So Far.
In the following year, the band, enhanced by
co-founder Helio "Scubi" Jenné, perpetrated
an unusual, unexpected pop / hard / weird
funny album under the nickname Pega
Varetas ("Pick-a-Stick"). The idea was
to open two fronts, one more prog rock
oriented and the other more suitable for the
music industry, even proposing a ludicrous
"band franchise"; nevertheless, instead,
both stones felt on deep sea and ACIDENTE disbanded
one more time.
Another decade and three more new records,
the two latest featuring Malaria, Jenné and
back to the team multi-instrumentalist and
sound engineer Zunga Ezzaet, who had already
taken part during most of the prog phase,
its good to travel back in the years to the
very early beginning of 21st Century and
remember how ACIDENTE
sounded then. This time, "Technolorgy" won't
go out of stock that soon, since Stolen Records ("a Fake
Enterprise") hasn't got by far the same
distribution structure as the previous
labels, to whose owners the producer thanks
a lot. Still he'd like to thank, more than
ever and for keeps, the great friends who
helped to build those inspired moments:
Renato, Mario and Ary, guest Reppolho plus
sound engineer Paulinho Silva and his
assistant Gilmário. All in all, truth be
told: we were really great!
ARY MENEZES "TECHNOLORGY é pra mim tão
significativo como para o próprio ACIDENTE.
Começou como começamos qualquer álbum,
reunindo algumas ideias, transformando e
organizando alguns improvisos e
MARIO COSTA
"O que mais me impressionou foi a
criatividade rolando solta nas sessões. Em
segundo lugar, o clima de amizade. Porque é
muito bom tocar com amigos talentosos. Ficou
também a lembrança do dia 11 de setembro de
2001, vendo as torres caírem durante uma
sessão de mixagem."

PAULO
MALÁRIA
"Foi o apogeu da
incursão prog do Acidente. Ali, ou a coisa
explodia ou desendava. Não explodiu, e a
banda assestou sua artilharia para outros
quadrantes do universo rock.
excelente!" Paulo
Izecksohn - Rio, 8-2-1956
RENATO
BORGES "Gravar e tocar com o
ACIDENTE foi uma experiência única! Músicos
e amigos incríveis!"
Renato Borges Sampaio Filho - Rio, 1-5-1965
